Your questions, answered.

How ServiSeek works, what it costs, and how to book with confidence.

Getting started

What is ServiSeek and how does it work?

ServiSeek connects people who need a service with independent businesses that can help. Post what you need, hear from interested businesses, ask questions and choose whom to book. You stay in control of the decision. Eligible bookings paid through ServiSeek can also include Buyer Protection.

What services can I request through ServiSeek?

ServiSeek covers a wide range of services, including cleaning, gardening, trades, vehicle care, pet care, beauty, tutoring, moving and business support. Start typing what you need into the service search, then choose the closest matching service. You can also browse all services to see the available categories.

Is it free to post a request?

Yes. Posting a service request on ServiSeek is free. You can describe the job and hear from businesses before deciding whether to book. If you go ahead, you pay the agreed price for the service. An eligible protected payment also includes a Buyer Protection fee, shown before you pay.

Can I use ServiSeek in my area?

ServiSeek is a UK platform. Add the relevant location when making your request so businesses can understand where help is needed. The businesses available and the responses you receive will vary by service and area.

What information should I include in my request?

Explain what you need done, where the service is needed and any preferred dates. Include useful details such as the size of the job, access requirements or the result you want. Relevant photos can help where the request form supports them. Keep private contact details and sensitive information out of descriptions and photos.

Can I request a service delivered online?

Some businesses offer services online or remotely. Browse their profiles in the Business Directory and check the delivery methods they offer. When contacting a business, explain that you need online help and confirm how the work will be delivered, what is included and whether you need to meet in person before agreeing to proceed.

Responses and booking

What happens after I post my request?

Interested businesses can respond to your request. A response might include a quote, an hourly rate, a question or a request to visit before pricing the work. You can discuss the details and compare your options. A question or expression of interest does not, by itself, mean you have made a booking.

Do I have to accept an offer?

No. Posting a request does not oblige you to accept an offer or book a business. You decide whether a response suits your needs and budget. Before accepting an offer or confirming a booking, check the scope, price, timing and any cancellation conditions so you understand what you are agreeing to.

Can I talk to a business before booking?

Yes. Use ServiSeek messaging with a responding business to ask questions and clarify the work before you commit. Discuss what is included, materials, timing, access and anything that could affect the price. Keeping the agreement and any changes in your ServiSeek conversation gives both sides a useful record to refer to.

How do I choose the right business?

Compare the business's experience, profile, relevant reviews and response to your request. Ask what the price includes and check any qualifications or insurance the job requires. Look at value and suitability as well as price. Posting a request still leaves the final choice with you.

How long will it take to receive responses?

Response times depend on the service, location, timing and businesses available. A reply is not guaranteed. A clear description and realistic dates help businesses decide whether they can assist. If nobody replies, check the service and details you supplied, and contact ServiSeek support if you need help with your request.

Can I browse the Business Directory instead?

Yes. The Business Directory is available if you want to look through business profiles yourself. Posting a request is the main way to tell businesses what you need and let interested businesses respond. Whichever route you use, Buyer Protection applies only to eligible payments completed through ServiSeek.

Payments and Buyer Protection

How does Buyer Protection work?

With Buyer Protection, eligible bookings paid through ServiSeek have a delay before money is released to the business. Your booking must be marked as protected. Payment release depends on your booking, completion confirmation and any active issue. Check the release information shown in ServiSeek and the full terms. After the scheduled service time, you may be able to confirm completed work and authorise earlier release.

If something is wrong, report it promptly, before payment is released. We can review the issue and may pause payment during the investigation. Buyer Protection is not insurance, and refunds depend on the circumstances. Read about payment release, reporting a problem and the full terms.

How much does Buyer Protection cost?

The Buyer Protection fee is £2 plus 1.5% of the agreed job price. For a £100 job, the fee is £3.50 and your total is £103.50. The fee is separate from the business's price, and your total is shown before you confirm payment.

When is my payment released to the business?

Payment release depends on your booking, completion confirmation and any active issue. Check the release information shown in ServiSeek and the full terms. After the scheduled service time, you may be able to confirm completed work and authorise earlier release. A positive review is not required. Only authorise release when you are ready for the business to be paid: the normal payment hold ends when you do.

What if the business does not turn up or the work is unfinished?

Report the problem to ServiSeek promptly, before payment is released. Keep relevant messages, photos and booking details. We can review the evidence and may pause an eligible payment during the investigation. The outcome depends on the circumstances; reporting a problem does not guarantee a refund.

Payment release depends on your booking, completion confirmation and any active issue. Check the release information shown in ServiSeek and the full terms.

Am I protected if I pay a business directly?

No. ServiSeek Buyer Protection does not cover cash, direct bank transfers or other payments made outside the protected ServiSeek payment process. Finding a business or messaging through ServiSeek does not protect an external payment. To use Buyer Protection, make an eligible payment through ServiSeek and check that the booking is marked as protected.

Can I cancel a booking or get a refund?

Cancellation and refund options depend on your booking, any work already done, the circumstances and your legal rights. Contact the business and use ServiSeek support for a protected payment issue. Refunds are not automatic. Read the full terms for how refunds, Buyer Protection fees and exceptions are handled. Your statutory rights are unaffected.

App, account and trust

Where can I download the app, and can I use ServiSeek on my computer?

Download ServiSeek from the Apple App Store or Google Play using the links on this website. The app helps you keep up with replies, message businesses and manage bookings from your phone. You can also use the ServiSeek web app on your computer. Choose the option that works best for you.

Do I need an account to post a request?

You can start your request from the homepage before signing in. You will need to sign in or create an account to finish and publish it. Your account gives you a place to manage the request, read responses and continue conversations with businesses. Follow the steps shown as you complete your request.

Who can see my request and personal information?

Request details are used to help businesses understand the work. A public version of a marketplace request may include its title, description, service, general area, status and when the request was posted. Signed-in customers and businesses may be able to access additional request details, including location information and photos. Direct enquiries have different access restrictions. Avoid putting private contact details, sensitive information or identifiable documents into descriptions and photos. Read the Privacy Policy for how ServiSeek handles personal information, and contact support if you have a concern.

Does ServiSeek check businesses' qualifications and insurance?

A ServiSeek listing is not a blanket guarantee of a business's qualifications, insurance or suitability. Businesses are responsible for the credentials their work requires. Ask for relevant evidence and check it before booking, especially for regulated work. Any specific verification ServiSeek provides should be read according to what that check actually covers.

How do customer reviews work?

Reviews help customers learn about other people's experiences with a business. ServiSeek also allows businesses to invite genuine previous customers to review earlier work, so not every review relates to a job booked through ServiSeek. Consider the review's detail and relevance alongside the profile, the business's responses and your own checks.

How do I contact ServiSeek for help?

Use the ServiSeek Support Centre for help. Include the email linked to your account and the relevant request or booking details so we can identify the issue. For a protected payment problem, contact us promptly before payment is released. Never send your password or full payment-card details.

For businesses

How do I join ServiSeek as a business?

Choose Join as a business and follow the registration steps. Add accurate details about your business, the services you offer and where you work. A clear profile helps customers understand whether you are a good fit. Once your account is ready, you can use the available request and response features to find relevant opportunities.

Is it free to join and respond to customer requests?

Creating a business profile and responding to customer requests are currently free. You do not have to buy individual leads to reply. Payment-processing and related fees can apply when you accept payments through ServiSeek, so check the applicable payment terms. Free registration does not mean every payment transaction is free of charges.

What can I include in my business profile?

Use your profile to explain who you help, which services you offer and the experience you bring. Add accurate business details and relevant examples of your work using the fields available. Make any claims about qualifications, registration or insurance specific and truthful, and keep your service information up to date.

Do I have to give a fixed quote straight away?

No. Depending on the request, you can provide a quote or hourly rate, ask a question, or arrange a visit before pricing the work. Use the response option that fits the information available. Be clear about what any price includes and what you still need to confirm before a booking is agreed.

Can I invite previous customers to leave reviews?

Yes. You can collect up to 10 reviews from genuine previous customers for work you carried out, even if it was not booked through ServiSeek. Use Previous Customer Reviews in your business account. Invite honest feedback about real experiences; do not write reviews for customers or make a positive review a condition of anything you provide.

How can I improve my chances of winning work?

Keep your profile complete and respond to requests that fit your skills and availability. Show that you have understood the job, ask useful questions and explain your price clearly. Relevant work examples and genuine customer reviews can help customers assess you. Be realistic about timing and follow through on the commitments you make.
